Florence Barjou appointed Chief Investment Officer of Crédit Agricole Assurances and Matthieu Lance appointed Deputy Chief Investment Officer, responsible for real assets and equity investments

Florence Barjou began her career in the economic research department of BNP’s investment banking arm. She joined Lyxor in 2006 as Global Macro Strategist and Portfolio Manager. She was subsequently named head of diversified management in 2013, followed by deputy head of the Absolute Performance & Solutions division in 2014 and Managing Director, deputy CIO. In 2020, Florence Barjou was promoted to Chief Investment Officer of Lyxor.

Aged 49, Florence Barjou is a graduate of the Paris Dauphine University and holds a PhD in economics (2000) from the University of Nanterre.

Florence Barjou will gradually take up her new role from 15 January and the appointment will take full effect from 1 March 2022.

 

Matthieu Lance began his career at CCF in 1994 as a financial engineer in structured finance. In 1998, he joined Banque Lazard as M&A advisor to major industrial clients and investment funds. In 2007, he joined BNP Paribas as Managing Director Corporate Finance responsible in succession for the chemicals, aerospace, defence and automotive sectors (2007-2012), after which he joined the Mergers & Acquisitions France team (2012-2016). In 2016, Matthieu Lance joined Crédit Agricole CIB as Deputy Global Head of Mergers & Acquisitions, and has been joint global head of this activity since the end of 2019.

Aged 53, Matthieu Lance is a graduate of the Ecole Centrale de Paris.

Reporting to Florence Barjou, Matthieu Lance will commence his duties on 7 March 2022.

 

These appointments follow the retirement of Jean-Jacques Duchamp and Françoise Debrus.
